Sturdy Sock Base

The title says it all. This is our go-to sock yarn and it's so strong, we've gone hiking in socks made from it (and they survived wonderfully!). It's a tightly spun, 2ply, Peruvian Highland superwash wool which means it's strong straight from the sheep. We wouldn't say it's super duper soft, but it's not even close to scratchy. Just a smooth, sturdy sock yarn. 

At 357yds per 100g and 80/20 SW wool/nylon, it's a chunkier fingering weight than most sock yarns. It knits up at a similar gauge with the same needle size, and your stitches will be nicely snug (which also equals a longer lasting sock). You can easily get a single pair of socks out of one skein.
